Terms of service
DRAFT — pending legal review. These alpha terms were written by the engineering team and will be replaced by a reviewed version before the public launch. They do not yet name the contracting entity or governing law.
Last updated: 8 September 2026 (draft).
1. The service
MailBridge ("the service") imports mail from POP3 and IMAP mailboxes into a Gmail account, on your instruction. During the private alpha the service is provided free of charge, to invited accounts only, for evaluation.
2. Your account and your mailboxes
- You may only add source mailboxes that you own or are explicitly authorised to access. You are responsible for the credentials you enter and for keeping them current.
- You may only connect a Gmail account that is yours. The service verifies that the Gmail account you connect belongs to the same Google identity you signed in with.
- You must not use the service to harvest, redistribute or spam, or to circumvent restrictions imposed by a mailbox provider.
3. What you should expect
- Imports are best-effort and may be delayed. Messages over 50 MB are skipped. Some messages may end up as ambiguous (imported at Gmail but unconfirmed); retrying them may create a duplicate, which is why a retry always asks you first.
- The service never modifies or deletes mail in Gmail. It never deletes mail at a source unless you switch delete-from-source on for a POP3 source and confirm the consent text. If you do, deletion is irreversible on the source side; the copy in Gmail remains.
- You can pause, resume, edit or remove a source, disconnect Gmail, export your data and delete your account at any time from the app.
4. Alpha limitations, availability and changes
This is pre-release software. Features may change or be withdrawn, the service may be unavailable for maintenance, and the alpha may end at any time, in which case you will be told how to delete your data or it will be deleted for you after notice. During maintenance the app shows a banner and refuses changes, but export and account deletion keep working.
5. No warranty; limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law the service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and the provider is not liable for lost or duplicated messages, for mail deleted at a source after you enabled delete-from-source, for actions of Google or of your mailbox provider, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, endangers the service or other users, or triggers abuse complaints. You may terminate at any time by deleting your account; the privacy policy describes what happens to your data.
7. Privacy and security
The privacy policy and the security overview are part of these terms.
8. Changes to these terms
Changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the changed terms.
